Christoph Ehlscheid

Christoph Ehlscheid studied history and political sciences.
Since 1990, he has worked for the German Union of Metal Workers (IG Metall) in various positions. From 2007 to 2024, he has been head of the social policy section. Since 2024, he is head of office of the Executive Board of IG Metall and he is responsible for the coordination of the social policy, the labour organisation and the job skills sections. Since October 2011, he has served as a Board member of the Pension Fund of the Land Hessen. Since December 2014, he has been a member of the Board of the German Pension Fund (Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund).

Christoph Ehlscheid has been a member of the German Social Advisory Council since 2016.
