Jens Dirk Wohlfeil

born in 1966

Studied law at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

Joined the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations’ federal level programme for young managing directors in 1966. Subsequently worked for 20 years in labour and collective bargaining law at the German Construction Industry Confederation. From January 2017 to September 2019 managing director for social and collective bargaining policy at the German Retail Association. Since October 2019 managing director for collective bargaining and social policy at the employers’ association Gesamtmetall.

Mr Wohlfeil served, in a voluntary capacity, as a member of the assembly of representatives of BG BAU (2011 to 2016) and a member of the BG HW executive board (2017 to 2019); he we also alternating chairman of the assembly of representatives and the federal assembly of representatives of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund (2017 to 2023).

Mr Wohlfeil has been a full member of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs committee on collective agreements since 2020, deputy chair of the Committee on Safety and Health at Work since 2021 and deputy chair of the board of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund since 2023.

Mr Wohlfeil has been a member of the German Social Advisory Council since 2024.
