Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Gert G. Wagner

Studied sociology and economics in Frankfurt (Main); 1984 doctorate and 1992 postdoctoral lecturing qualification at the Berlin University of Technology (TUB). From 1992 to 2002 Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Gert G. Wagner was Full Professor at the Ruhr-University in Bochum and Viadrana European University in Frankfurt (Oder). From 1989 to 2011 he was Director of the German Socio-Economic Panel Study (SOEP) at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin).
Since 2002 Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Gert G. Wagner has been Full Professor for Empirical Economic Research and Economic Policy at the Berlin University of Technology (TUB), since 2008 Max-Planck Fellow at the Max-Planck-Institute for Human Development, Berlin, and since 2011 member of the Executive Board of DIW Berlin. He is a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech).
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Gert G. Wagner was a member of the Reliable Intergenerational Contract Commission which is composed of representatives from the social partners, the policy-making and academic communities.
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Gert. G. Wagner has been a member of the German Social Advisory Council since 2014, which he chaired until June 2020.
